Bursting the bubble of corporate lies
This multiple award winning documentary take you through the economics and politics that have undermined the US economy and why. It pulls back the current on the corporate campaign to pay little or not tax and sabotage the Federal governments authority and ability to hold them accountable. They have usurped government by, for and of the people.
America isn't broke; you are!
For several decades America's cut taxes for corporations and the one percent but still spent like crazy on war and other big business-enriching ventures. Cut revenue, borrow and spend, and then say, as we hear from the likes of Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, "We're broke."
With its title this 2012 documentary corrects that: WE'RE NOT BROKE.
Corporations such as Exxon-Mobil, Google, and General Electric contribute zero in taxes on the billions they make in profits. Instead of making them pay their fair share, we should spend less on education, health care and infrastructure, Congressman Boehner and Governor Christie? Common sense should answer that for the Congressman and the Governor but WE'RE NOT BROKE does with facts and figures as well as by showing the blood, sweat, and tears of U.S. Uncut, the citizens' movement aiming to make corporate tax dodgers pay up on their record profits...
Most Important Film Of Our Time
Extremely lucid and informative; well researched and well executed. We have been bankrupted by greedy corporations who do not want to give back to the very nation who's services, consumers, and workers they depend on and exploit. For the sake of making a relative handful of people obscenely rich, basic services have been slashed. This includes education, healthcare, and emergency services. Big corporations now own the U.S. Congress, so there's no point to relying on our so-called representatives to fix things. Painful to watch, but that's only because it's so on the mark; so painful to see American grown companies we trust ripping us all off and abandoning us in our hour of need.
