Low budget doesnt always mean bad.
I tried this out as I am a fan of the horror genre. I actually found it enjoyable and watched it all in 1 sitting as the episodes played back to back. It's not like the other popular vampire love stories that seem to be popping up a lot lately instead it focuses on a main character who was bitten and how he transitions into his new life of being a vampire.
Interesting New Take on Vampires
This is quite clearly a low budget film and, while production values may not be up to those of a big budget film, the product looks good. Clearly a good bit of thought has gone into the way the series is shot and it adheres to film conventions. The writing and acting improves as the season progresses and the actors adapt to their roles and the writer improves and adapts to who is cast for each role.
The new take on vampires is actually a return to convention and perhaps a more toned down approach. The series deals with the politics of the vampires' world and avoids such things as bursting into flames and, god forbid, sparkling.
Beware
I guess someone has to be the guinea pig...
Looks like it was shot on a phone. Actors who aren't actors. An incredibly stilted script. No direction. No lighting. Just a whole bunch of stay away.
